Our Affiliates
The Center has strong affiliation and collaborative relationship with a number of NSF programs which have funding support for US students to participate in international research experience. NSF currently has active funding programs in a number of countries through:
- Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE)
- Sciences and Technology Centers (STC)
- International Research Experiences for Undergraduates (IREU)
There are currently over 100 active PIREs, STCs, and IREUs, supporting collaborative research and research training in countries across the world. Through affiliation with these program and dissemination of their opportunities to the potential LSAMP partners, their faculty and students, the Center facilities participation of students from LSAMP institution in obtaining international research experience. These affiliation programs provide the valuable opportunity for LSAMP student participation in international research leading them to become sophisticated STEM researchers but developing the ambassadors of collaborative researchers of the future. There is at least one or two of these affiliate programs located in the seven countries of Centers’ concentration.
