Cargill Global Scholars
The Cargill Global Scholars program provides financial support and leadership development opportunities to undergraduate students from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Russia, and the United States. Scholarships will be awarded to talented, high performing students studying in a field primarily relevant to Cargill’s world of food, agriculture and risk management.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S. graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists to study, conduct research, and/or teach English abroad. In addition, Critical Language Enhancement Awards are available to grantees for study of critical need foreign languages before or during their grant period. Fulbright is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).
GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders
From 1987 – 2016, the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program (GEFSLP) supported thousands of outstanding students with financial aid to complete their college or university degrees in engineering and business/management.
Indigenous Biocultural Exchange Fund
The Indigenous Biocultural Exchange (IBEX) provides financial assistance to individuals to attend global biocultural events or meetings of international significance which impact their home territory or region. IBEX enables indigenous peoples and local communities to have a voice in global forums that concern biocultural diversity.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is a grant program that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, thereby gaining skills critical to our national security and economic competitiveness.
The Gilman Scholarship Program is open to U.S. citizen undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.
WeTech
IIE’s Women Enhancing Technology (WeTech®) is a consortium of dedicated partners led by IIE to design and support a series of innovative activities to provide training, build networks and offer professional opportunities. WeTech® helps women and girls enter and succeed in technology careers, with the goal of enhancing women’s talent and skills needed to fuel technological and economic growth.
IIE-GIRE
IIE-GIRE (Graduate International Research Experiences) is a fellowship program that offers funding to doctoral engineering students to conduct innovative research abroad for 3 – 5 months. IIE-GIRE is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under grant no 1829436. For the second cycle of the program (Spring – Fall 2019), up to 15 U.S. PhD candidates will be funded to spend 3 to 5 months abroad, conducting innovative research and creating ties between their home and host institution. Awards will include funding that will go towards the students’ international travel and living stipend (for 3-5 months abroad), health insurance, visa fees, and a small fund for educational materials. In addition, each student’s home campus faculty adviser will receive $2,000 to help support their own travel to the research site abroad to visit their student, or for other relevant activities to support internationalization of home campus graduate programs. IIE will also provide several enrichment webinars for the selected grantees, focused on Critical Topics in International STEM Education and Policy & Professional Development (academic and non-academic career paths).

KAUST
The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) offers the prestigious KAUST Fellowship Award to support highly talented students from Saudi Arabia and around the world. KAUST Fellowships will be granted to a select cohort of students who demonstrate academic excellence in the global research community. The Fellowships will support students who wish to pursue research-based graduate study at KAUST.
Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development
The Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) provided U.S. teachers and administrators with a fully-funded opportunity to travel to Japan to learn about ESD efforts and strengthen ESD curricula in both countries. ESD is “a vision of education that seeks to balance human and economic well-being with cultural traditions and respect for the earth’s natural resources,” according to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for ESD was designed to raise awareness of ESD-oriented school programs, enhance ESD-related curricula in both countries, and deepen a sense of global interconnectedness between teachers in Japan and the United States.
Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides a year of professional enrichment in the United States for experienced professionals from designated countries throughout the world.
Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree, a minimum of five years of substantial professional experience, limited or no prior experience in the United States, demonstrated leadership qualities, and a record of public service in the community.
